After losing my job in tech during the dotcom crash in 2001, I decided that running might be something fun to do. Living in Marin at the time did not make it too hard to start either. Just above Sausalito, CA I discovered a trail that broke the ice to a new era in my life. I found trails as far as the eye could see with the Pacific ocean and the San Francisco skyline as a back drop. I soon learned that running was something that came naturally to me.
Sadly I had to move away from Marin and found myself running the trails scattered throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains. My first was a trailrun in Purisima Creek Redwoods, which spans a section of the Santa Cruz Mountains between Woodside and Half Moon Bay. It was here that I realized my love for this sport, and envisioned a killer website for others who share this passion to enjoy. I was on a mission, and it did not take long for me to discover that I live smack-dab in the middle of a trailrunning mother lode. My focus fell on the boundless trail systems within the Midpeninsula Open Space and the Marin Headlands.
Arming myself with maps, a digital camera and Global Positioning System technology I set out to put together a highly informative and interactive trailrunning website like no other.
See for yourself what makes my training so special! It's free to join. All you need to do is show up!
